M & A in Healthcare drives growth of hospitals systems and closure of rural hospitals
Dear CSS Members and Colleagues:
Enclosed is a short YouTube Video featured from a story done by CNBC. It is entitled "Why U.S. Hospitals are Closing." Large NFP Healthcare systems and a regulatory environment are combining for a winner takes-all game where M & A creates monopolies in healthcare and growth of large NFP systems. Care access and competition become problematic in some areas. This will certainly have relevance to Orthopedics and in that regard I thought you would find this of interest. It features the MGH and the Mayo Clinic.
