2024 Freddie Fu Lecture at UPMC: “Innovation in Orthopedic/Shoulder Care: Context, Culture Creativity”

Dear Colleagues:

Enclosed is a link to a recent talk I gave which considers innovation in Orthopedic care, and more specifically, Shoulder Care. The unique aspect of this talk is that it considers the context from the point of view of economics and timing, as well as the culture and structure of the environment in which we innovate.

We all have ideas that we think are creative. Taking these and producing something of value requires that this idea, be it for a product or a service, can scale into the marketplace. This is the central issue with innovation, namely creating something people need to solve a problem and accomplishing this in a setting where the barriers don’t block the adoption of this “innovation.”

I hope you find this of interest. Feel free to leave comments on our WhatsApp Group chat, or on our LinkedIn page, or in VuMedi, if you use this method to watch the video.

VuMedi: Innovation in Orthopedics/Shoulder Care: Context, Culture, and Creativity (This requires a membership which is free for healthcare providers and individuals working in Healthcare and it allows you to comment on the video).
